Job Description

  • Manage your team or direct reports and leverage the matrix HR org. to drive a high performing HR team which is at every step of the way is enabling the business to achieve a very stretch ambition
  • One of the key priorities remains hiring a strong talent bench. Cytiva has added almost 30% of its entire work force in less than a year and has high ambitions for 2021. As the HR lead it is imperative you help design the right org for the future, ensure time to fill is kept within KPIs and partner with talent acquisition and leadership
  • Key priorities include: talent attraction (working with talent acquisition team and leaders to ensure roles are posted ASAP, we reduce time to fill yet go for the best talent with runway and succession potential), talent development (support and coach leaders on developing talent to be the best version of themselves and grow), talent assessment (do regular org assessments on potential vs. performance and strategize with the leadership on talent actions) and retention (ensure we have a very high retention rate of our talent and get to root cause where we see issues)
  • Partner with leadership to develop and execute both long-term and short-term HR strategies that directly support and enable business objectives
  • The role reports to HR Leader for BioProcess and Cell & Gene Therapy
  • Advise and partner with the functional / departmental leaders on HR and business matters
  • Responsible for key talent and management development including consulting with leaders regarding team development, succession and personal/professional development of associates
  • Drives and sustain core process supporting performance management – challenges managers to assess correctly and make the right calls around people, and supports them working through those decisions
  • Designs and implements leadership development curriculum including a few specific development experience courses
  • Drives and sustains the key processes around engagement, from analysis, communication, feedback and action planning
  • Act as an organizational coach, who builds organizational capabilities, reduces complexity and partners to maximize team performance
  • Strategically collaborate with Services managers to design and implement the most effective organizational structures
  • Provide timely, effective and direct coaching to managers, assisting in the development of world class, contemporary leadership skills
  • Provide strategic coaching to key employees as related to succession planning, career path development, and performance management
  • Has personal ownership for key HR metrics (recruitment, development, retention, etc.) and works with leaders to dive to root cause and develop and execute appropriate countermeasures where needed

Who you are

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources or MBA
  • Preferred location in US (East coast), Canada (Vancouver office) or UK (Amersham office)
  • Minimum of 15 years in a variety of Human Resource positions with increasing scope
  • Demonstrated experience in making strategic HR decisions, assessing leadership talent and effectively interfacing with high-level business and operations leaders
  • Strong knowledge of US legal and Labor relations including conducting and administering performance improvement plans, speak up investigations, in depth knowledge of US labor laws and regulations to guide business leaders
  • In-depth understanding of HR concepts and principles gained through formal education and substantial work experience
  • Understands, appreciates and thrives in a dynamic environment where there are many special projects and needs that need to run in parallel with delivering on busines as usual HR (which in year 1 of integration) is already a lot of change to the organization.
  • Has been project manager/ lead projects involving significant number of variables, need for bringing structure, using the right tools and delivering under strict timelines
  • Developed (oral and written) communication and diplomacy skill set with the ability to influence others by presenting sound and logical arguments tailored to the audience
  • Coaching and leadership assessment experience
  • Strong orientation using and developing processes – six sigma green/black belt or demonstrated experience to thrive in an environment that relies very heavily on data-based decision making using the Danaher Business System (DBS) methodology
  • Extensive knowledge of excel and/or Power BI will be a strong plus
  • Has lead teams and can demonstrate ability to create succession, drive engagement and lead by example
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to assess situations make judgments based on practice or previous experience
  • Strategic mindset and strong business acumen
